China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially issues 5G licenses
On June 6, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued 5G commercial licenses to China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Radio and Television. China's commercial 5G schedule is six months ahead of market expectations.
On November 1, the three major operators announced the first batch of 5G commercial launches in 50 cities. At the same time, 5G commercial packages were officially launched. 5G commercial packages are divided into multiple gears, and the included traffic ranges from 30GB to 300GB. The starting prices are respectively 128 yuan for China Mobile, 129 yuan for China Telecom and China Unicom.
On December 23, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Miao Wei announced at the National Industry and Information Work Conference that 126,000 5G base stations had been opened nationwide.
